Exhibition Basics
Q: How can I apply? A: Complete the Application Form at the bottom of this page.
Q: When and where is the exhibition taking place? A: The exhibition will be held on 16-17 May 2026 at Old Grocery.
Q: How many pieces can I submit? A: Artists can submit up to 4 pieces for the exhibition.
Submission Process
Q: When and how do I submit my artwork? A: Artwork must be delivered on Tuesday 12 or Wednesday 13 May between 10am and 12pm (midday) to Old Grocery. You must pay a £5 submission fee in cash upon delivery.
Q: What are the requirements for submitting artwork? A: Your artwork must:
- Be ready for hanging
- Have D-rings attached to the frame
- Be priced to sell
- Relate to the “Inspired by Nature” theme
Financial Details
Q: How does the sales process work? A: Old Grocery will take a 20% commission on all sales. Payments for sold work will be made before the week ending 22 May.
Q: How will I be notified about sales? A: Jonathan from Old Grocery will contact you on Monday 18 May to inform you about sales and request your bank details for payment.
Artwork Collection
Q: What happens if my artwork doesn’t sell? A: Unsold artwork must be collected on Tuesday 19 May between 10am and 5pm.
Q: What if I can’t collect my artwork during the specified time? A: By special arrangement, an alternative collection time can be agreed upon by contacting Jonathan at Old Grocery in advance. If no alternative arrangement is made and the artwork is not collected, uncollected artwork will be donated to the OVAID Charity Art Show in August 2026.
Additional Important Information
Q: Is my artwork insured during the exhibition? A: Artists are responsible for their own artwork insurance during transportation and exhibition. Old Grocery will take reasonable care of submitted artworks but is not liable for any damage or loss.
Q: Can the exhibition use images of my artwork? A: By submitting, you grant the exhibition permission to photograph and use images of your artwork for promotional purposes. You retain the copyright of your original artwork.
Q: What if I need to withdraw my submission? A: Contact Old Grocery as soon as possible. The £5 submission fee is non-refundable once artwork has been delivered.
Q: Are there any restrictions on artwork? A: While specific details aren’t provided, ensure your artwork:
- Relates to the “Inspired by Nature” theme
- Fits within the exhibition space
- Is appropriately prepared for hanging
Q: How will I be paid for sold artwork? A: Payments will be made by bank transfer before the week ending 22 May. You will need to provide your bank details when contacted on Monday 18 May.
