Kirstin Handley

As a baby, Kirstin Handley’s mother would place her in her pram and wheel her out into their garden, weather permitting, for a sleep beneath the trees. Kirstin believes this is where her deep connection with trees began.

As a sensitive soul, walking in nature serves as a balm for her spirit and a reset from the modern world. She finds joy in watching the light filter through the leaves, listening to the ever-changing sounds, and absorbing the scents around her. Her favorite of all is the fragrance of linden blossom, which she seeks out every year.

Kirstin feels fortunate to live in Wivenhoe, surrounded by open skies, the River Colne, and woodland trails. These elements stir an emotional response within her, allowing her creativity to rise and flow onto the canvas as she paints intuitively what she sees and feels. To her, this place possesses a rare kind of energy; arriving here feels like reaching a destination, not merely passing through.
